Registration open for HSC Workplace Survey conversation

Thursday, June 3 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. via Zoom

As part of an HSC initiative focused on “COVID-19 Lessons Learned,” a survey was completed focused on HSC faculty and staff workplace design during the past year (on site, remote or hybrid), the advantages and challenges encountered in each unique situation, and thoughts around how we can translate experiences into new ways of thinking about a more flexible work environment at the HSC.

The information gathered was not to establish new policies but rather to collect ideas and diverse perspectives with unit leaders/supervisors and their team members to prompt discussion of creative approaches that can increase personal flexibility while maintaining key functions and overall productivity at the HSC.

The response to the survey was robust, with over 900 participants and many thoughtful comments.

In a follow up to the survey, we will hold an HSC conversation on Thursday, June 3 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. to share and discuss these data.

Dr. Laura Gibson, Senior Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Education, will begin the meeting with introductory remarks. Scotti Foltz will then present a summary of the data to the group.

The following breakout sessions will then be offered to participants:

  • Sense of Safety at the HSC; Concerns and Strategies for Improvement
  • Hybrid Work Arrangement; Impact on Work-Life Balance and Overall Job Satisfaction
  • Optimizing Work at Home; Strategies for Productivity and Maintaining Social Connectivity

Following the breakout sessions, the key points will be brought back to the entire group to wrap up. A summary document will be shared after the session with HSC leaders to prompt discussion about creative strategies for returning to the office.
