Mindfulness Summer Series begins May 22

The Health Sciences Center’s Mindfulness team is offering a free summer series designed to help students, faculty, and staff cultivate peace of mind, presence, and personal growth.

Led by expert instructors, including neuroscientist Julie Brefczynski-Lewis, clinical therapist Laurel Faulkenberry, and yoga teacher Heidi Sherwin, the sessions provide guided meditation, breath awareness, gentle yoga, and body awareness exercises.

The series will feature four one-hour Zoom sessions on select Thursdays from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Each session will focus on a different life challenge, such as sleep difficulties, anxiety, pain, and grief.

  • May 22: Mindful Solutions for the Sleepless

  • June 26: From Worry to Wonder: Mindful Steps for Everyday Peace

  • July 31: Holistic Practices for Easing Pain and Illness

  • August 21: Embracing the Human Heart: Mindfulness through Grief

Participants are welcome to join any or all sessions. No prior experience with mindfulness is required.
