Department of Orthopaedics Hosts Reception at AAOS Annual Meeting
The WVU Department of Orthopaedics welcomed past residents and fellows at a special reception held during the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Annual Meeting in New Orleans.
During the event, Matthew Dietz, MD, department chair, shared an update on the department’s vision and strategic direction, highlighting growth and future initiatives.
The reception took place at the National World War II Museum, offering attendees a unique setting and opportunity to enjoy a performance by the Victory Belles – a 1940s-style vocal trio. One of the performers is the sister-in-law of Felicity Fisk, MD, a WVU Medicine orthopaedic surgeon, adding a personal connection to the evening’s entertainment.
In addition to current faculty and alumni, six WVU residents attended the AAOS meeting, including Jakub Ratkowski, MD; Jennafir Ernst, MD; Caitlyn Patton, MD; Vincent Morrow, MD; John Pisquiy, MD; and Brody Fitzpatrick, MD. Each resident presented at the meeting, showcasing the department’s strong academic presence.
